Barrett BORS (Barrett Optical Ranging System)
The Barrett BORS is an integrated ballistic computer that mounts directly on the riflescope and couples with the elevation knob. The BORS measures air temperature, barometric pressure, and bore line angle automatically providing the shooter an exact yardage at which the bullet will hit. Once the distance to the target is known, the computer is put into action by simply turning the elevation knob until the LCD displays the target’s range. It can be adjusted manually for different cartridges/loads and eliminates the need for "counting clicks" allowing the shooter to return to tactical concerns. Barrett BORS even determines if the rifle is canted. In fact, the only thing this portable mastermind can’t do is pull the trigger.
The Barrett BORS kit includes the Barrett Ballistic PC Software and a Barrett BORS data cable that allows the user to program custom loads on their personal computer and transfer them directly to their Barrett BORS.
