These binoculars provide the user with the ability to switch quickly between low and high magnification. Low magnification provides an excellent overview sight picture, especially in low light. Switch to higher power for detailed imaging at a distance.
The Leica Duovid 8+12x42 is a versatile model of binocular with an 8x low power setting for brilliant and steady overview images of wildlife and game. The 12x high power setting provides amazing detail at a distance. The Leica Duovid 10+15x50 is a step up from common fixed power binoculars, and has more in common with a spotting scope than a set of binoculars. The Duovid 10+15x50 is so powerful at high magnification that a tripod mount is included so these binoculars can be used for stargazing and astronomic observation at 15x power.
Changing magnification is done seperately for each side of the optic via a dial on the eyepiece. Leica’s Automatic Diopter Compensation (ADC) retains diopter settings even after changing magnification. Eye relief can be set via click stops on the eyepieces. All Leica Duovid models feature a black rubber armor body.
