In the 1960s Lino Manfrotto was a photo reporter who hauled around heavy equipment. Manfrotto began by designing booms, telescopic rods, and other stands for his photographing friends. In 1972, Lino partnered with Gilberto Battocchio, a technician, and by 1974 the first Manfrotto Tripod was born. Persistent innovation combined with high standards and advanced technology, Manfrotto continues to design photographic accessories equipment.
